I received a special note from Carl Schaefer, Jr. in his response to our survey.  I thought most of you would find this interesting.

Dear Andy,

Did you know that Florida Military School started with three school teacher partners?  At Christmas-time the first year they weren't getting along well.  My father, during the Christmas break, bought out two of the partners, giving him 2/3 increase in the school as a private school.  So, later on he sold part of it to Carl Ward so they were equal partners 50 - 50.  He was a partner with Carl Ward for several years until after my brother and I graduated.  My father was very responsible in first building a new dining hall which Carl Ward named the Carl C. Schaefer Building; then also responsible a lot for the building of the swimming pool.
